At Bionsen, we’re not sure if there is any link between using deodorants and antiperspirants and breast cancer, but we are sure that women should be empowered to make an informed choice about their health. If after evaluating the information on this website you’ve decided you’d rather not risk yours until further research has been carried out, we can offer you an aluminium- and paraben-free alternative to your regular antiperspirant.

But does Bionsen work?
Many people are nervous about switching from an antiperspirant to a deodorant – will it work as well at preventing bad smells? Some people are especially worried about sweating – even if they don’t smell unpleasant, wet patches can be unsightly.
First, the body odour issue. Sweat itself doesn’t smell. The bacteria that feeds on it does. Bionsen works by preventing this bacteria from growing, and is as effective at neutralising body odours as the leading brands of antiperspirant.
Next, sweating. While some people sweat more than others, what our customers tend to find is that, on an average day, no-one sweats as much as they imagine from their underarm. Most of our customers don’t notice an increase in underarm wetness when using Bionsen on an average day. Some customers have reported that, in very hot weather or when playing sports and exercising, they have noticed an increase in underarm wetness. Many continue to use Bionsen, reasoning that their old antiperspirant wasn’t 100% effective in those situations either and the possible health benefits outweigh the fleeting discomfort.
Got sensitive underarm skin?
Your anti-perspirant or deodorant could be to blame. Anti-perspirants work by using aluminium to block the sweat gland, physically preventing sweating – this same process can also block pores and prevent your body from getting rid of toxins, leading to skin irritation. Aluminium compounds are found in the vast majority of anti-perspirants and can represent up to a quarter of the total ingredients of some brands.
As Bionsen doesn’t contain either aluminium or parabens, it is highly recommended for anyone with sensitive skin.
